JFE Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (JFEM) and SMC Automation (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (SMC) has signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) on 29th March 2023. JFEM will supply solar power generated by roof-mounted solar PV system to SMC for 20 years. This is the first solar PPA project for JFEM.

JFEM shall install 550kWp solar PV system on SMC’s factory rooftop. It shall help SMC attain carbon reduction by 452t-CO2/year and will also allow SMC to save on their electricity billing.

SMC has decided to sign PPA with JFEM for their technical reliability and long-term business continuity. JFE Engineering Corporation, the parent company of JFEM, has more than 38MW solar PPA projects in Japan, and JFEM will expand the solar PPA in Malaysia by utilizing the expertise.
