JFE Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (JFEM) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of two pivotal solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with esteemed partners Kayaku Safety Systems Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (KMY) and Perusahaan Sadur Timah Malaysia (PERSTIMA) Berhad. These agreements signify a significant leap forward, with a combined capacity of approximately 2MW, comprising 1,213kWp from KMY and 742kWp from PERSTIMA. This auspicious development, coupled with our recent projects, brings our total solar capacity to an impressive 3.6MW, marking a substantial increase for JFEM.
The planned installation sites for the solar PV systems are KMY's Sendayan headquarters and PERSTIMA's Johor headquarters, both scheduled to commence operations in October 2024. Of notable significance is the scale and complexity of the installation at KMY, representing the largest solar PPA project undertaken by JFEM to date. The deployment will span across KMY's existing facilities as well as the new building currently under construction. Similarly, the installation at PERSTIMA will be intricately integrated with the company's existing co-generation system, paving the way for innovative and sustainable energy solutions. JFEM takes great pride in our ability to tailor project designs to meet the unique needs of our esteemed clients.
The anticipated annual solar power generation from these projects is estimated to 2,454MWh equivalent to a reduction of 1,860 tons of CO2 emissions annually, further underscoring JFEM's steadfast commitment to advancing global decarbonization agenda and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As we forge ahead, JFEM remains unwavering in our dedication to expanding business activities that harmoniously support Malaysia's environmental aspirations and the broader SDGs. Our ongoing efforts aim to embody the shared commitment of our partners and stakeholders to a greener, more sustainable future.
