JFE Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. (JFEM) and OKAYASU RUBBER (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. (ORM) have signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) on 6th September 2024. JFEM will supply solar power generated by roof-mounted solar PV system to ORM for 13 years with a capacity of approximately 450kWp, expanding JFEM's total solar installation capacity to 3,300kW.

The solar power system will be installed at ORM's headquarters factory in Shah Alam and is scheduled to begin operation in March 2025. The anticipated annual solar power generation from this project is estimated to 550,000 kWh equivalent to a reduction of 390 tons of CO2 emissions annually, further underscoring JFEM's steadfast commitment to advancing global decarbonization agenda and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
